I WANT A TABLET REALLY BAD.

It has come to my attention that people who draw with tablet get more views and attention rather than those who do it traditionally, like me.
I just can't afford the price, and worse, I can't use photoshop.

What does PS have to do with tablet?

Well, tablet-produced-drawings are usually colored in PS, to make a more satisfying result.

IF YOU A TRADITIONAL ARTIST LIKE ME, COMMENT ON THIS JOURNAL!
(Especially for those who use pencils and/or pens instead of coloring pencils or markers, although both of them are okay)

NO, this is not a diss to those who have and/or use tablets, I'm just here, ranting.

PROJECT LIST:

-High School Stories one-shot comic, expected at June. (might be late, though)
-MOAR COMICS!

WAITING/PRIZES/ART TRADES/REQUEST LIST:
-Picture of :iconhoroshanokage: and my OC, Kennedy West.

Actually, I started off with pencil sketches...and sometimes I get back to it. It's just that, with the use of a tablet, it's more "convenient".

Of course, there are different kinds of conveniences, and they vary between the two. First off, with traditional media, it's easy to put down your feelings/expression through a raw media like pencil lead. Sometimes digital lines could be so flat/lifeless/static in comparison. Even so, for a world that's turning to technology for speed and convenience, using the tablet wins.

With traditional media, you have to worry about clean-up...and ultimately scanning and adjusting your picture so it isn't too large of a resolution, messy, etc. My system's horribly old, so I don't bother with scanning my traditional stuff (unless I'm really moved to do so, lol). It's just too time consuming when I just want to submit and work on the next drawing.

With the tablet, you can just draw on an art program and voila--when your'e done, just save and submit. The hassle's cut down.

Unfortunately, you're correct about colored pictures versus monochrome ones (and I'm not just limiting that to digitally colored works)--most people flock to the colors and overlook some awesome lead work.

Ultimately, it's all about balance between negative space and other nuances in a monochrome work to get some decent attention, I guess...

By the way, I'll work on that request of your's...but it'll take a LONG while--so stacked up on projects, lol. But no worries--I won't forget.
